Construction Ad for Bids released for 2017 phase of downtown project
Post Date: Jan 25 2017
Construction on Phase 3 of the City of Minot Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project is anticipated to begin this spring, as the bid for the project’s third phase of construction is currently being publicly advertised.

“We plan on opening bids in mid-February for the third and final phase of the downtown infrastructure improvements project,” said Lance Meyer, city engineer for the City of Minot. “We anticipate working with the selected contractor to begin construction early this spring. This is the last phase of a three-year project that is truly transforming the downtown, both below and above ground. And, as was true the last two years, it is important that residents know that Downtown Minot businesses will be open during construction, so please come on down.”

During this portion of the three-year project, the engineering documents call for the project to replace 3,500 linear feet of water main, 1,900 linear feet of sanitary sewer and 2,300 linear feet of storm sewer pipes. The 2017 portion of the project will also connect dozens of domestic water and sanitary sewer service lines, place concrete streets, curb and gutter, and sidewalks, and install new street lighting within 12 city blocks and two intersections of Downtown Minot.

Phase 3 (2017): Construction is planned in the following locations: on First Street SW between Central Avenue and Fifth Avenue SW; on Third Avenue SW/SE between Broadway and Third Street SE; on Second Street NE from Central Avenue to First Avenue NE; and on Second Street SE between Burdick and Third Avenue SE.

Construction information will be provided through the website, www.downtownminotisopen.com. You can also contact the public information officer for the project at 857-7205, and ask for Mark Lyman.
